BREAKING NEWS: Children's Fiesta Date Changed

To hedge our bets against unexpected rain, the 2010 Children's Fiesta has moved to be apart of the Fremantle Festival on Sunday 7 November.

Now’s the time for stallholders to register!

The annual Fremantle Children's Fiesta is a much loved community event that continues to grow from its humble beginnings in 1979.

This year the event will be held on Sunday November 7 at Samson Park (an area bordered by McKenzie Street and Sellinger and McCombe Avenues, Samson).

Through performances, workshops and hands-on, fun-filled activities the event educates, inspires and entertains children and their families.

More than 4000 smiling faces were welcomed to last year's fiesta held in the unique bushland setting of Samson Park and the City hopes to have just as many people involved this September.

The theme for this year's Fremantle Children's Fiesta will be biodiversity. It will be a good opportunity to learn about the importance of protecting, conserving and improving the different plants, animals and micro-organisms, and the overall ecosystems of which they are a part.

Samson Park is a fitting location for this event as it is the last parcel of remnant bushland of its kind in the Fremantle area. Amazingly the park supports over 50 different species of birds, 80 kinds of ants, more than 700 species of insects, bugs and spiders and in excess of 80 native plants, trees and shrubs.

Don't miss this fun-filled day of activities in which you will have the added bonus of learning how to encourage and preserve biodiversity in your backyard. See you there!
